The First Game of Cricket in the U.S.A.
An illustration for 2022 The American Bystander calendar.
While browsing this-day-in-history websites, I stumbled on the fact that the first publicly recorded game of cricket in the U.S.A. took place in May, 1751—in New York City.
So, I looked at 18th century depictions of New York, and early illustrations of cricket matches in England. The result is what you see below—an illustration for the month of May, in the 2022 American Bystander calendar.
