People seem increasingly obsessed with pickleball. It is very fun and a little bit silly, but it’s no Monkey Tennis.
“What is Monkey Tennis, Tom?”
Glad you asked. Monkey Tennis was a game my friends and I invented in our latter teens. It was played on a standard tennis court, but it required teams of three or more (more was better).
We allowed two bounces, and two hits on each side of the net—which meant you could pass to a teammate, like a set in volleyball.
When you had four or five on each team, it was basically impossible to win a point, and we would play until the moon told us to go home.
It was tremendous fun and I recommend you try it immediately.

More Cartoons
I made a silly animation for Ted Baker many years ago, to promote their elegant sketchbooks. Here’s a clip:

Ping Kong or King Pong? You decide! Get this cartoon.
See you next week!
Monkey Tennis reminds me of the game we made up as teenagers, Croquey (pronounced “croaky”). It was basically hockey played with Croquet equipment. It was fun and nobody was ever seriously injured (by seriously injured, I mean taken to a hospital in an ambulance).
