A Famous Lobster
When Salvador Dalí put a lobster on a phone, it provoked a month of public unrest in the streets of Paris and London.
The rioters were certain that the artist should be accused of something heinous—but what? Illegal misuse of crustaceans? Unnecessarily wide eyes? Deliberate weirdness?
Then, out of nowhere, a normal person tried putting a crab on top of their fridge. It was as if a spell had been broken. Widespread resentment gave way to a sense of adventure…
A baker put a shrimp on her hat, a banker attached barnacles to his briefcase, a postal worker popped krill through everyone’s letter boxes.
The rest, as they say, is art history.

Notes from Tom, final update
Thanks again to everyone who signed up for a postcard and donated to one of the relief funds. The window is now closed, but it will be re-opened in the future…
Remaining pickles and robots will be in the mail next week—destined for Australia, Sweden, Scotland, Pakistan, Canada, the U.S.A and beyond. Fun!
