This week I’m focussing on cartoons that reference Old Blighty. The land of the pork pie. The home of the scone. My place of origin.
I’m not sure I’d be a cartoonist without my Englishness. Monty Python re-runs, A bit of Fry and Laurie, French & Saunders. Hand-me-down Spike Milligan books. Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake.
These days, of course, I’m a dual-passported, international man of mystery. I wander the streets, sipping from a flat white, and stopping strangers to show them my transatlantic scribble-poems.
You should see my beret.
