Drinking Hats
If you want to become an expert at drinking, start at the top, and let everything else flow from there.
Below is a cartoon from last week’s New Statesman.
Les Muppetesques
Sometimes people tell me that they can see influences in my drawings.
It’s usually both meant, and taken, as a compliment. Nevertheless, it’s rather like telling a thief that you enjoyed the clues they left for the police.
It’s a fair cop though. For example, occasionally, entire Muppets fall out of my pen. All I can do is know my place, embrace the inner outlaw, and thank the Gods of Silliness for bringing us Jim Henson.
Below: some ‘definitely not Muppets’, says my lawyer.
Animatronics
According to the U.N., most animals are “sort of robots.”
In my research for this post, I spoke to an anonymous Dutch expert who claimed, “any animal that looks like it was clicked together is probably a robot.”
This includes all insects (except some of those big hairy moths).
