I was never a huge fan of Star Trek, despite watching the Next Generation almost religiously, when I was a kid.
I believe I can trace my scepticism back to Spock’s hair.
Of all the wild and crazy things that sprang from Gene Roddenberry’s imagination, Vulcan hair is surely the least convincing.

Something Cool
This week, I wish to recommend: a kids picture book called The Darkest Dark, by Kate Fillion and Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.
It’s wonderfully illustrated by Eric and Terry Fan, who also write and illustrate their own books. Check out Ocean meets Sky, and The Barnabus Project for starters (see link above).
